Michael has pushed hard for a sustainable and a stable economy for our State and our community on the North Shore.
- Introduced HR 187 and HCR 260 that was adopted to request the College of Tropical Agriculture & Human Resources of the University of Hawaii to develop and manage an agribusiness incubator in the Waialua District.
- Appropriating $7,000 to assess the feasibility of establishing a world-class farmers' market in Hawaii.
- Working with the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism to develop plans, programs, and initiatives to diversify Hawaii's economy.
- Supporting agricultural research and marketing by appropriating $800,000 to the Hawaii Farm Bureau Federation for the Hawaii Agriculture Research Center, of which $500,000 will be used for sugar research.
- Appropriating $50,000 for pineapple research.
