Michael has pushed hard for a sustainable and a stable economy for our State and our community on the North Shore.

Introduced HR 187 and HCR 260 that was adopted to request the College of Tropical Agriculture & Human Resources of the University of Hawaii to develop and manage an agribusiness incubator in the Waialua District.
Appropriating $7,000 to assess the feasibility of establishing a world-class farmers' market in Hawaii.
Working with the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism to develop plans, programs, and initiatives to diversify Hawaii's economy.
Supporting agricultural research and marketing by appropriating $800,000 to the Hawaii Farm Bureau Federation for the Hawaii Agriculture Research Center, of which $500,000 will be used for sugar research.
Appropriating $50,000 for pineapple research.
